Group & Corporate Workshop

 

In our one-on-one private workshops you will have the full attention of one of the LionHeart Gurls. Under the watchful eye of either Karmen or Nikki you will learn to navigate the world Swiss meringue buttercream in a relaxed environment where you are encouraged to ask as many questions as you like.

Date & time: pre-selected date that suits both parties
Venue: The LionHeart Studio (37 Durham Avenue, Woodstock, Cape Town), alternatively we can discuss the use of another venue should it be required
Skill level: Beginner to intermediate (advisable to have basic cake decorating knowledge – no beginners)
Class size:

  • Cape Town: minumum 3 pax, maximum 12 pax (if using our studio in Salt River)
  • Johanesburg: minumum & maximum 18 pax (if you are able to offer a larger venue than what we usually use we can discuss the class size)

Pricing:

Ultimately, the pricing would depend on the structure of the day, venue and anything that needs to be done by our team over and above the basic course outline listed below. As a starting point for a basic cake decorating workshop of 5 hours you are looking at roughly R2450 per person. This price is subject to change as it is also based off of the size of the group.

Course outline:

  • The basics about buttercream and why we love Swiss meringue buttercream
  • Cake decorating equipment & tools
  • Cake design & time planning
  • Swiss Meringue Buttercream (SMBC) demonstration (we will show you how to make your own at home but will supply frosting to use on the day)
  • Colouring buttercream with gel and powdered colours
  • Stack and fill a cake with sponges and frosting provided
  • Frost your cake with SMBC and achieve a smooth look
  • Achieving sharp edges on your cake

*The above is the basic course outline and can be streamlined to create your own unique experience based off of what the group would like to learn.

What will be provided?

  • Cake decorating equipment and tools, cake sponges, frosting, cake decorations and an apron (these are yours to use for the day but please leave it behind at the end of the class)
  • Snacks are to be discussed per group

You will take home:

  • A booklet with theory, recipes and resource list
  • Your beautifully frosted and decorated cake/s

What to wear?

We will be supplying a full­-length apron but wear comfy clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting full of frosting.
